Hi All,

My first post to this group and it's a privilege to be here.

First on my list is trying to get outta here a.s.a.p. and land a job back
home in the states.

Work wise, just finished user guides for the City of Johannesburg Fleet
Africa management team and for the local General Motors ISUZU management
group.

On the skills side, I'm constantly trying to improve my xhtml 1.1, css, xml
and related markup languages. Also, I'm concentrating on full accessibility
to my web-based work, as well as trying to become competent in an object
orientated managed language, i.e. C#.

Related to the profession, I just finished another Fast Track tutorial
entitled "Creating Accessible Tabular Data Tables" which can be viewed at
http://frank.helpware.net. My apologies if this is cross-posting, cause I
also mentioned it on the HATT list.

That's me at the moment, and hi to everyone I've communicated with through
the lists over the years. :-)

Kind regards,

Frank M. Palinkas

Something else comes to mind after reading this article:

What skill or skills do you want to learn or feel you have to learn to
further your career? This could be an application, a methodology, or
something else you feel is important to your career.

I myself have a rather long list:

* How to write help
* Variables, conditional text, text insets in unstructured FrameMaker
* Structured FrameMaker
* InDesign
* PhotoShop (have it, use it, but know I'm not fully using its power)
* Software documentation, including APIs
* Project management
* More than the basics of HTML
* Indexing
* Usability testing

Of course, my boss would just be happy if I remembered to do my timelog
and other adminstrative requirements on time. I'm getting better--like the
article said, 15% improvement a year! :)
