Bill, I haven't done the experiment, but maybe you know the answer. The reason I didn't suggest that in the first place is because of image quality/image compression. Doing it your way, does Acrobat deal with compressing the BMPs efficiently? In other words, how does the resulting PDF compare in size to one generated from TIFFs?
