The PDF Converter Professional 4 program from Nuance will do
everything you need and more. Indeed, it is more capable than the
newest version of Acrobat in several important ways. It's a great
program - and it's much cheaper than Acrobat (around $100). I
recommend it highly, but with some important caveats.

Nuance has appalling, incompetent offshore tech support - and they
charge for it. Their new releases USUALLY don't work properly when
first shipped. Getting access to competent tech support is possible,
but very difficult. Getting competent support free (perhaps because
the product wouldn't even install, or wouldn't run) is even harder. I
would advise you to download the program. You aren't likely to find
the latest fixes in a boxed version. Be sure to disable your AV, and
other malware-related programs, before you install it.

Despite all of these comments, it is a VERY good program. They used
to offer a free trial. If they don't do this anymore, buy it. If you
have issues that they can't fix, take advantage of your return
privilege and get the no-hassle refund from Digital River.

I actually own a copy of Acrobat Pro, but I prefer PDF Converter.

(Nuance sells other really good programs, such as OmniPage and
PaperPort. Sadly, the bug and support issues are common to all.)
