Our last two supts - before our current one - both "double dipped".
The first retired from here on TRS and moved to Arkansas where he became
the supt at Monticello AK - fitting. The next retired from Iowa and
came here for 5 years before he retired again and moved back to Iowa. I
have personally known at least 5 supts who have done that.

Actually I have encountered Superintendents who have retired in TRS
and in the past have insisted that their new position be IMRF so that
they can double dip. I think the law change a few years ago made that
no longer possible. Most of the double dipping superintendents that I
now know of jump between Indiana & Illinois.
