Hi Sarah

No, you've misunderstood, sorry. RollBack does not work like that! If you
have a case whereby Windows won't boot, what you do is boot from the same
drive, but evoke the RollBack menu by pressing the Home button. Then you can
roll the system back.

But I will say it again. RollBack RX is *NOT* a conventional backup utility.
It is a snapshot creator which keeps a sector-by-sector image record. It does
*NOT* create an entire image of your hard drive, and that is the important
difference which a lot of people don't quite understand. A sector-by-sector
record is *NOT* the same as an entire image. So, if you have a 100GB hard
drive and it contains 90GB of data, your RollBack image is *NOT* going to be
90GB in total.

Am I making this any more clear?

Gordon

Actually I read the whole intire thread and I asumed you could boot off of a
usb drive in all operating systems. This method is counter intuative as if
something happens to your internal or you drop your computer down the stairs
you are toast. A block by block back up is good but if you only have a 120 gig
hard drive in said laptop or desk top that is not much space to work with as
your first image might be 100 gigs in theory depending on your OS config.

I"m used to running IS's off of external drives so naturally asumed that that's
 the way role back worked.

It seems like a good peace fo kit to have around though.
