Hi Paul and Nathan, You guys ask a great question.
Telrad built the EPC 2020 platform as part of an end-to-end solution, with the specific goal of enabling WISPS to deploy LTE technology that was previously too costly. As such, we priced this initially as part of an all-Telrad solution, understanding that at some point there would be a desire to use the EPC with other technologies. Today, the EPC is not limited in any way. Any eNB should work just fine with the device. In an upcoming software release, we will be introducing two licensed price models. One model will be offered to customers that are running Telrad eNBs. A second model will be offered for users of other eNB products, who would like to leverage the capabilities of the Telrad EPC. More details will be announced after the first of the year. Until this is implemented, there are absolutely no mechanisms within the EPC that identify a Telrad device from another. I am curious though: if the standard is a standard is a standard, why a need for different pricing for non-Telrad ENBs?
