Hi Paul and Nathan,

You guys ask a great question.

Telrad built the EPC 2020 platform as part of an end-to-end solution, with the
specific goal of enabling WISPS to deploy LTE technology that was previously
too costly. As such, we priced this initially as part of an all-Telrad
solution, understanding that at some point there would be a desire to use the
EPC with other technologies.

Today, the EPC is not limited in any way. Any eNB should work just fine with
the device.

In an upcoming software release, we will be introducing two licensed price
models. One model will be offered to customers that are running Telrad eNBs.
A second model will be offered for users of other eNB products, who would like
to leverage the capabilities of the Telrad EPC.

More details will be announced after the first of the year. Until this is
implemented, there are absolutely no mechanisms within the EPC that identify a
Telrad device from another.

I hope this clarifies the situation. We are happy to provide more details if
you would like to have a call.

Best Regards,

Chris Daniels

This is the same question I have.

I'd also point out that, right or wrong (and I'm not making a judgment call
here), as I recall, it was a rumor of this exact thing that, in some people's
minds, lent some credence to the accusation that standards-compliance was being
sacrificed.

Chris, Can you explain this further?

"Furthermore, we will soon be introducing new pricing for use with Telrad and
non-Telrad eNBs."

It sounds like you can pay for a standard, but that we will not be able to use
hardware we have purchase with other vendors unless we pay you more money.
That's not what you are saying, is it?

Hi Matt,

I am simply clarifying that our solution is standard, and asking that you not
state otherwise. This is in no way an attack, and your comment that we attack
potential customers is absurd.

When BaiCells stopped working with our core, this was not a bug or broken
standard.

If you would like to have a rational discussion, or learn more about our
technology, we are happy to oblige.

Best Regards,

Chris

I don't think I said anywhere you intentionally broke it. I was asking if

However - it appears telrad still feels the need to attack any potential
customer. The environment of sales at Telrad continues to amaze me.

If it is the Baicells ENB that is dropping the S1 session, then it does seem as
though the issue/blame likely sits with Baicells.

I am curious though: if the standard is a standard is a standard, why a need
for different pricing for non-Telrad ENBs? Shouldn't the EPC licensing/pricing
not distinguish between one vendor's ENB and another's?
