I used the same trick to fix it here, it is a bit
strange, could this sort of problem be avoided by allowing 
arbitrary beam numbers, in the same way the PMX allow
arbitrary slur/tie numbers, e.g. 

[1 g a ]j /
[j b c ]1 /

to force force beam across a staff using beam number 1 or
would this cause other problems?
