When DHL was shutting down, they picked up a defective part from me - AND NEVER DELIVERED IT. I called about it after 2 weeks, and IBM/Lenovo could find no trace of it other than the pickup acknowledgment. I hope the driver enjoyed it - it was, like, defective already.
Other than that, and a tendency to do stupid things like deliver at 10PM (I'm not one of those folks who would answer the door at that hour with a gun in my hand, but a couple of my neighbors probably are!), they did OK by me. .phsiii From: RayBay [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Monday, February 08, 2010 10:43 PM To: Bruce Markowitz Cc: Phil Smith III; Thinkpad list Subject: Re: [Thinkpad] EZ Serv Wow! We sorely hated DHL out west in Utah, Arizona, Colorado, Wyoming, and New Mexico. FedEx Ground has always been the one for us. UPS has now gotten better so they only crush 1/2 the boxes they deliver, but the price is right RB - - - - - I'm an idealist. I don't know where I'm going, but I'm on my way. .. ... .... ..... ...... After a couple of seconds, it goes back to full brightness. This occurs without any user interaction, and is not related to a screen saver, as the machine may have been active just seconds before; nor is it related to actual power issues, as it occurs with different power bricks, and other machines plugged into the same circuit do not exhibit the behavior. 2) Possibly related: when the machine is unplugged, it will often report that the battery is almost dead, but after a few seconds, goes back to 100% battery. I've swapped the battery with a known-good battery from another machine, and the problem continues. She was living with those, as she's loathe to give up the machine. but recently the fan started going. So yesterday I called EZ Serv, got the usual coherent help. The only sour note is that both the rep and the email I got from them this morning (!) say repairs can take 6 business days. Does anyone else have recent enough experience to say whether that's just hedging bets, or if the old 3-day turnaround is gone? ...phsiii _______________________________________________ Thinkpad mailing list [email protected] http://stderr.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/thinkpad _______________________________________________ Thinkpad mailing list [email protected] http://stderr.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/thinkpad _______________________________________________ Thinkpad mailing list [email protected] http://stderr.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/thinkpad
