The difference seems to be that the M-14 has a TrackPoint IV (with negative inertia etc.) whereas the M-13 only has the Trackpoint II.

There is also another IBM keyboard with the Trackpoint IV, but without a number pad:

Spacesaver II (28L3644/37L0888 US English) http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-487PPW

These seem to be even harder to find than the M-14s and cost around 200 USD new (NOS).

Regards, Alban

The trackpoints on the desktop keyboards (even the genuine IBM) have a
vastly inferior feel to the ones on the laptops. On my M13s with *very*
careful adjustment of the mouse settings I can make it acceptable (but
then any regular mouse I have attached at the same time will zoom all
over the place).
