I see.  I don't know if I've ever used an M14.

I once considered buying one of the spacesavers; they seem perfect, except for the lack of palmrest.

The difference seems to be that the M-14 has a TrackPoint IV (with negative inertia etc.) whereas the M-13 only has the Trackpoint II.

There is also another IBM keyboard with the Trackpoint IV, but without a number pad:

These seem to be even harder to find than the M-14s and cost around 200 USD new (NOS).
