At the Lenovo website they have a list of "National resellers". All of these sell refurbished thinkpads online, and I am fairly confident they are refurbished by Lenovo or whoever Lenovo uses.

I did not buy the extended warranty; the >800 days is what was on the machine when I bought it. They offer an upgrade to 5 years depot for around $180.

Our most recent refurbished unit (from an authorized Lenovo dealer)
still shows over 800 days on the warranty. We had the option at purchase
to upgrade the warranty even further.

That's interesting. I wasn't aware of this kind of alternate to the Lenovo Outlet, i.e. buying a factory-refurbished ThinkPad from an authorized Lenovo dealer that also offers an extended warranty at the time of purchase (unlike at the Outlet). Is the warranty from Lenovo? How much did the extended warranty cost, and does this dealer sell online?
