Which port replicator do you have?
For my T60, I have two different versions, both snap in place. I've
never tried using one while it is not connected to power, but I've never
had trouble using any devices connected to it without drivers, and I've
used both Windows and Linux.
One of the port replicators has a few basic connections, and the second
has a DVI connector.
The only one I can think you'd need drivers for is a port replicator
connected by USB. For sound and video to work with that, I'd think you'd
need drivers.

Oh right does it require plugging in then and thus doesn't work by
battery?
Hmm I am sure my x30 ultrabay worked off battery.

There are no drivers for docks/port replicators. It *should* be plug
& play...in Windows, that is.
You have to use Internet Explorer and no other browser in order to
get System Update to recognize your machine.

Subject: [Thinkpad] Port Replicator drivers
Hello,
I am struggling to find the drivers for a port replicator for the
Thinkpad T60.
I cannot see anything in the t60 drivers page and i cant seem to find
a drivers page for these port extenders.
An extender does need a driver doesn't it for Windows XP Pro?
IBMs System update does not pick it up and automatic detect fails to
even
find my model number.
Are the drivers in a peculiar place?
Thanks for your time
