"I know keyboards are a personal thing but everytime they've changed in the past, when I thought they would be terrible, they turned out fine. You might, if possible, find one to try before you give up on Thinkpads."
While there has always been quite a difference between the feel of the keyboards on various business-class ThinkPads, one could always be pretty certain one would very quickly be right at home with the new machine. It is harder to be certain with the new series, and unlike other models I would hesitate to buy one sight-unseen. I don't know how much better the T430 keyboard is than the X100, but I have tried the latter and do not think it is very Thinkpad-y. If I owned one I would be tempted to try to graft a 701 keyboard onto it. _______________________________________________ Thinkpad mailing list [email protected] http://stderr.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/thinkpad
