Thanks David, I do have the ultrabase but not sure how long it would take to get
the HD adapter (limited window for getting it fast; if Lenovo replaces the HD it
buys me some time too). Could check I guess, is it that much better than a USB
cable? I note the Apricorn kit is what's bundled from Crucial (assume they're
all the same corporation :).

Is there a hybrid that fits in 7mm? I note that Crucial seems to think there's a
1TB (!) 5200rpm drive that would fit, and it's only $129 (!!). Add an mSATA
drive for booting and (more importantly) hibernation and I wonder if you'd get
similar results (or at least the illusion thereof).

Good point about the warranty. I'll have to check all these (but only have a
couple of hours if I'm going to get it this week).
