No, USB 3 wouldn't be of any help here. Yes it would be faster
but still 1000 times slower than memory--at least.
Jeffrey, if you need more ram you ought to get a more modern
computer. I just got 16GB of ram for $145. 4G sodimms for my
W500 were about $55, and I see Crucial is now selling my 8G kit
for $37.99.
