Running low on disk space of my C partition, I moved my paging file to the D: partition, this helps 90% of the time, I do however have a couple older applications that crash after several minutes of use and that started only after I changed the location of my paging file.
I have to echo everyone else's comments. Even though using a different partition is possible and I suppose acceptable (read due to speed) it still causes extra disk activity and read time, and should be used as a last resort (i.e. when you start running out of space. This all depends of course if you have your drive partitioned. 2ยข worth, -Dave -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Jeffrey Race Sent: Tuesday, November 27, 2012 4:18 AM To: Thinkpad Users Group Subject: [Thinkpad] Use thumb drive for ram? Is there some save way to use a thumb drive as RAM or as a location for a paging file (WXP or W7)? How? Gotchas?
