On my T43P 2687D5U, 2½ years ago I replaced the original 80GB Fujitsu with a
Western Digital WD3200BEVE 320GB 5400 RPM 2.5" ATA-6 laptop hard drive
from newegg.com. Set the BIOS to continue boot after pausing for
non-standard drive warning so user confirmation input is not required.
This drive has been quiet and warm but not hot. No larger capacities with
PATA interface are available. If a larger drive is desired, search for
hardware mods to replace the PATA interface with SATA in the T43.
Good luck.
