I think BT Internet uses Yahoo to give their customers web access to their mail. This is probably the cause of the confusion.

It seems that ronzilla has simply reported to us that a btinternet
mail account has been setup successfully on Thunderbird.  I cannot see
what it has to do with Yahoo or with the Webmail add-on. Perhaps
ronzilla will help us understand the connection to Yahoo mail..
