It is indeed a very weird way of becoming a beta tester. And actually somewhat
annoying.

Tiny by the end of the day is a business and they need to look at ways of
increasing their revenue and manage their growth. I do not have a problem with
that. However, if this is the right way, I am not sure though.

When downloading a module for free and it has some bugs, well fair enough.
However, if you charge EUR 500 for it, I think it simply raises the bar. If the
app is a bit rough around the edges and all the core functions are OK. No
problem, I can life with that. However, here, the OOReport designer did not
even install. A lot of my time has been wasted. If this SFO approach is taken,
before releasing apps and in my opinion there needs to be thorough in-house
testing on a range of major OS's and OO versions. I am sure it worked fine on
the systems it was developed on but I have my doubts it ever was tested on an
openSUSE system.

As Pedro put it, it's a bit weird to pay and be a beta tester. Having said
that, I do not mid supporting Tiny, however next time I think twice.

Cheers
Norbert
