So here is the deal: > * faster releases -> faster new features integrations, more risks of new bugs > * slower releases -> less faster integration of new features, less risks of > bugs Stability is more important than features, We all agree... But I don't agree with your point of view : - Shorter release will not take 4 month to make them stable - More tester, means better quality - Smaller release allow you to report some improvement and will keep the stable branch more stable ! For now, we have quite a lot of regression in the stable branch cause you need to push some improvement in it. You can't wait 1 year to improve the print system, but 6 month is ok... Last point : It's true that customer will ask to have the new version !! But who want it, will pay for it ! So everyone is happy with that I think :) At least, I prefered when release come out more ofently.. this means less change in the stable branch... which means also less time spent on fixing regression... We (partners) don't earn money on regression fix, but we do on migrating the customers system ! ------------------------ Joël Grand-Guillaume <b>Camptocamp SA</b> PSE-A EPFL CH-1015 Lausanne -------------------- m2f -------------------- -- http://www.openobject.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=42439#42439 -------------------- m2f --------------------
