But, do you know.  Or are you merely reinforcing your preconceptions with
selected observation and self-reinforcing assumptions.

Not every student is you!  I sure wasn't.  I was afraid of my profs. And I
have to admit that, in the old days when I was an undergraduate I was
more likely to crack a keg than a book, I would have been one of those
students whom you label as apathetic.  You know, Payam, studies show that
students really don't care about what you know; they care about who you
are.  What they care most about is whether you really care about them,
whether you're approachable, whether you're fair, etc
