My bad when I said "same thing accomplished". Of course, there is much more
to networking.

In his e-mail he did not indicate he needed all these extra features. I
ASSumed :o) he only needed schedule info from Tivo and nothing else. Yes,
agreed all these features are nice, not everybody is using them though like
you and I do. I only use TiVoToGo. I tried Web scheduling, but it doesn't
show you the current programming you have on your TiVo, would be nice if it
did and you can change the priority, clip over or reschedule programs
online. Some of these features you mentioned I did not even know exist :o)
or did not pay attention - thanks for bringing it up.

My Net Gear TiVo compatible adapter has been working fine without any
problems at all. How do you define "will not work as well as TiVo's?" - I
would not be surprised if Net Gear makes the Tivo adapter under Tivo's name
- stranger things happened.

I can see the signal strength on the network of 40-88% regularly. It takes
about 1-1.5 hours for 1 hour show to transfer via TiVo to go on my G
wireless network. I have it secured so it slows down the transfer a bit, my
network doesn't broadcast its name, so I thought about just keeping it
unsecured, but then decided to just go 64 bit security vs. 128 for a bit
faster download. Don't know how much difference it makes.

Now a ? - if you have another TiVo box without subscription can you use it
just to move programs into it over the network and watch them on it? This
would be used only for watching programs not recording? Kind of hypothetical
question as I am very happy with Tivo to go and keep a few shows on my
laptop.

Thanks!

IGGY
