The only way we can increase the volunteer base is to motivate others to join
us. This can only be done through events/activities ( such as FDP , BDP etc ).
Actions talk more than words.

Coming to how WE ( the volunteers off the field ) can help , a look at
  1) Build NGO database
  2) Build Volunteer database
  3) Spread the word about our activities and motivate others
  4) Organize fund raisers or awareness campaigns
  5) Take responsibility for all the administrative related works
  6) think about how Information Technology can made accessible to the poorest
of the poor and take up or support such projects.
  7) There is a great potential in the internet , utilize it to build friends,
groups , networks

WE need to deliver more , WE need to do more and why , because we are capable
of doing it so.

  cheers

            Hi All,

If you are busy just see the bold sentences

Karthik's is very appropriate, without having strong volunteer base we cannot
execute most of our plans.

But, we cant stop making plans or try execute things as our mission is to
spread our hands as much as possible to help the needy. So in this effort every
small bit of help moves and motivates us towards our aim. We and as well many
other organisations are definitely lacking the volunteers that would be
required to actually see to that we are able to make difference in the number
of lives that we want to target. But that should not stop us in moving towards
the aim that we have taken up.

We should be planning based on how much work force do we have and how much
can we achieve keeping in mind that not every one of the volunteers are
available all the time. We all know that most of us are working so it is
difficult to actually be active all the time and especially on the field as
there are many constraints that are involved. So if anyone of us here feel that
they are unable to help the needy because of lack of volunteers then i feel
sorry for them, in the sense that the person will not be able to find anywhere
what he requires unless the organisation is based on volunteers who are full
time.

Point is we cannot actually think about to make other efforts only after we
consolidate on the volunteers base.

  Guidelines:
I have already mailed a detailed one on this earlier, so here i am just
putting the jist of my thoughts:

  1. The guidelines should be a reference to the members on field when they
need to take a decision.

  2. It should not be the only way to go about doing things.

  3. Should have the flexibility to include expenses of the accompanies (incase
of medical cases) like food, etc based on the descretion of members on field
who are involved in that case.

I believe we need to take some stand on this as its no point to pour in mails
when we face some situation of conflict in middle of a case.

  Best Regards
  Chaitanya
