 It depends. Using NIO, you can serve static content as fast
or faster than Apache 1.3 in pure Java, which means one less
reason to use a separate front-end web server. (Of course,
performance isn't the only reason to run Apache as a front
end to Tomcat, but it seems to be perceived as the biggest
reason)
