I think maybe you're confusing having a MySqueezbox.com account with running Squeezebox Server on a computer on your network. You must run Squeezebox Server on a computer to use plugins. The internal server can't run plugins. I know the terminology gets confusing and just exactly how it all fits together even more so. To listen to music from the Touch, there are three possibilities: - Download and install Squeezebox Server software on a computer on your network. This is the most traditional way to listen to music. It allows you to listen to MP3 and AAC and FLAC and WAV (and other) files that you've ripped from CD or that you've downloaded from the internet. It also permits you to listen to Internet radio. But the server must be running for this to happen. It's this option (only) that lets you run plugins. Some plugins come with the server, others are downloaded and installed. - Run the internal server on the Touch. This is a lightweight version of the same server that you can run on your own computer. But it does NOT support running plugins, and it has a couple of other restrictions such as not supporting transcoding (meaning that you can listen to fewer types of audio files) and having no web interface. - Set up a MySqueezebox.com account and listen with the Touch connected to it. This lets you listen to Internet radio and many online audio streaming services (some of the so-called "apps"), but you have no way of listening to your own music files. There's are also no plugins with MySqueezebox.com. -- JJZolx Jim ------------------------------------------------------------------------ JJZolx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=78869 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
