Perhaps I misunderstood you a bit here.  If you are limiting your
critique of iTunes to files beyond 16/44 resolution then I suppose
there is reason to question its ease of use.  But the bigger point
about the Touch is that it's sound quality with 16/44 files is more
than competitive with many high end CD players.  The fact that it can
play files with resolutions beyond 16/44 is an added benefit, but less
utilized. Such files are a relatively small part of our libraries, with
many people choosing not to purchase them at all.  I guess what I'm
trying to say is that one can fully appreciate (and therefore review)
the audiophile qualities of the Touch with or without files above
16/44, and therefore with or without iTunes.
