Anybode else concerned about the high pseudoscience and BS content in
all these magazines ?

The gullible readers buy's this wholesale, thus the lost focus of the
whole hi end business .
Some manufacturers is as guilty, building very expensive crap with
golden handles and tubes that of-course gets a positive review.

I wish *real* sound quality could be a factor again, hi end audio is
not an effective way to get good audio quality, the system design is
wrong from the getgo in many cases.
The stuff in my sig is probably 5 times as expensive for it's
soundquality as it *should* be for many reasons .

The normal brands don't do sound quality as it is not a factor, normal
consumers the buy "brands" sometimes they get sq accidentally as it's
seems like the op-amp and dac manufacturers is driving the development,
it's becoming hard to source crap component's ;).

Sadly hi end hifi is status boutique stuff, just like a Porsche or
Ferrari the price is a part of the product, everybody want's to be a
premium brand .

The general design is technically obsolete passive speakers etc.

The typical audiophile *want's* stuff to be designed this way audio
jewelry rather then performance ;) 5000$ power cords .

The future of audio is in streamed PC audio and Networked music
players.
Combined with active speakers with digital crossovers and digital
inputs.
Can someone have the guts to tell that story instead of yet another
tube amp review please.

Off topic sorry for more ramblings:
Digital active speakers for home use (there are studio monitors
of-course)
Has it's flagship brand Meridian, but they are practically alone hence
the prices ouch, and no competition if you don't like their house
sound. But look at the logitech BOOM it's is technically a similar
beast(digital x-over dsp eq)but at different end of the price scale :)
so it can be done for very little money.
