This is exactly my point:

When reviewed by either Stereophile or TAS just about all of Logitech's
networked music players have gotten very positive reviews and sometimes
even more such as a listing in the Recommended Component Section but
nonetheless music streaming and computer based digital audio are more
often than not treated as an interesting divergence rather than a
serious means of obtaining truly "high end" sound.

Again maybe I'm mistaken because it appears that the reviewers and
editors like and use networked music players so perhaps it's just that
the readers are not all that intrigued.

For example over on the Stereophile forum I had a member telling me
that flac cannot possibly be the defacto standard for high resolution
digital audio files since flac is not supported by iTunes! The fact
that iTunes is even mentioned in a discussion about high resolution
digital audio shows just how little most readers know and understand
about using computer based digital audio within the context of high
quality audio reproduction.
