sounds like it. I know only enough to be very dangerous about
networking. I'd always assumed that open ports would be the same
whether WIFI or ethernet. Maybe with WIFI, because you are entering a
password, the router is giving the touch access to the ports, but with
ethernet, and no password, it is blocked. No router I've ever had has
worked that way, but who knows.  

I hate to suggest this, but routers are awfully cheap these days. If
you haven't replaced it in a couple of years, it might be worth just
starting with a new router.
