The real question is will TAS reward the Touch with a solid recommendation in its annual end of the year roundup or will they do what Stereophile has done and even after giving the Touch a glowing review with nothing but praise fail to place it among the mega-buck products which normally get their highest year end recommendations? Imagine, HP listening to one of his dreadful "Super Discs" on his outrageously expensive state of the art system with a mere $300 Touch as the digital front end (i.e. digital transport). Never, ever going to happen - he likes rubbing elbows with all the big shots of high end audio too much to let a mass market product into the sacred inner circle. Of course the other reason this will never happen is that at $300 the Touch is way too expensive for any of the dreck that makes up HP's Super Disc list. I would think that a mid-1080's cheap Walkman knock off with an equally bad pair of headphones playing back a badly made cassette copy of one of the Super Discs is just about right. -- ralphpnj Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels -> Snatch -> The Transporter -> Transporter 2 (oops) -> Touch 'Last.fm' (http://www.last.fm/user/jazzfann/) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ralphpnj's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10827 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=82527 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
