Can't agree with that. The reviewer doesn't have his facts straight and makes statements that are completely incorrect. From his review: "Also its vitally important to use a drive that has its own external power supply that does not depend on the USB connection for its power. The Touchs power supply cant fully support the power requirements of a USB drive through its USB connection." This is completely false as I use multiple USB powered USB Drives (Toshiba) daily with the Touch without issue. More importantly the Touch USB port is spec'd to the Certified USB Specification. The issue is using USB drives that are not USB Standard Certified or draw to much current during start-up or use. SO of course they don't WORK off the Touch USB port, DOH! Common sense also tells us that not every USB drive is going to work with every device it is tried on. It is my opinion that Kal Rubinson's October 2010 review of the Touch in Stereophile is a much better review of the Touch. -- iPhone *iPhone* Media Room: Transporter, VTL TL-6.5 Signature Pre-Amp, Ayre MX-R Mono's, VeraStarr 6.4SE 6-channel Amp, Vandersteen Speakers: Quatro Wood Mains, VCC-5 Reference Center, four VSM-1 Signatures, Video: Runco RS 900 CineWide AutoScope 2.35:1, Vandersteen V2W Subwoofer Living Room: Duet, ADCOM GTP-870HD, Cinepro 3K6SE III Gold, Vandersteen Model 3A Signature, Two 2Wq subs, VCC-2, Two VSM-1 Kitchen: Squeezebox BOOM Bedroom: Squeezebox BOOM Bathroom: Squeezebox Radio Ford Thunderbird: Duet, Mac Mini Ford Expedition: SB Touch, USB drive ------------------------------------------------------------------------ iPhone's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13622 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=82527
