The ipeng is simply an APP that runs on an iphone or itouch for controlling a SB player (like a SB touch). The ipeng by itself is not useful; you still need a SB player. The vortexbox is basically a headless computer running linux and running SbS. It is fast and efficient. Mine has 6TB of disk space so the files are on the Vortexbox itself. Vortexbox is free (just a software installation). You can install it on almost any old computer you have around. You could also go with the sheevaplug approach have it use the files that are on your readynas. Sheevaplug runs the SbS software (and much better than a readynas duo, which is too underpowered), but files still stored on readynas. re dnla. Not that familiar with it, but I recall from other threads that SbS doesn't currently work with dnla. Also some issues regarding gapless playback, etc. Anyhow, see this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=82400&highlight=whitebear -- garym ------------------------------------------------------------------------ garym's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17325 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=83521 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
