I can only say that I bought the readynas duo specifically for storing music and running SbS to feed several SB players. After a few weeks it was obvious that it was way too painful to use ANY interface for browsing or selecting music. I do have about 60,000 tracks. So I gave up on the readynas. I just use if for some backup file storage now. I initially just moved over to an old laptop and used it for running SbS. It was fast, but noisy and used lots of power. the vortexbox appliance uses less power, is fairly quiet, and is rock solid as a server. Plug and play.
