I can't disagree with you from my perspective, but it is not uncommon for those on the outside of a hobby to use terminology differently than those who have been immersed in a subject for any length of time. I'd suggest that most people on the outside would be perfectly comfortable with the term "sound quality" to describe what he meant. EQ/tone controls can make the bass more prominent, the highs a bit more sparkly, voices clearer and so on. Many "lay people" would describe that as better "quality" even if it was a gross deviation from what an audio purist would want. This reminds me of, in the mid-1970s, when I sold stereo equipment and virtually all amps still had tone controls. It was a given that roughly 95% of the people would crank up the bass & treble controls to 1 or 2 o'clock (or more). They just liked the way it sounded and weren't concerned if that departed from some reference standard. Back to the original poster, I suspect that if the Touch had an easy-to-use equalizer, he'd think it the greatest thing since sliced bread. ;-) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ mlsstl's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9598 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=96776 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
