Yes it's bit perfect with a large buffer too . Provided 100% volume no replay gain or smart gain enabled .
That said Touch uses a decent 24 bit digital volume control it's extremely unlikely that you hear it when used with moderation . Touch itself is "limited" to 24/96 if you not use EDO app but I'm not sure analog out works ? Getting 24/192 on the analog is afaik not possible ( correct me if I'm wrong ) the main advantage with EDO is USB support . How do you connect the nova USB or spdiff ? The nova is also "limited" too 24/96 . In the USB case it might actually be your LMS server doing the transcoding of 192k, just like it does for an unmodified Touch. Using the very good SoX algorithm . Yes LMS server has transcoding abilities the players has far to little CPU . But the thing is that given that the source is exactly the same *it is normally not humanly possible to hear any difference at all between 24/96 and 24/192 .* it is actually possible that it gets worse with 192 k But when you compare you will be able to listen between the Touchs own DAC and the Nova DAC the difference there if audible migth be of interest to you :) You migth find out if Touch or Nova is better or equal . But try to make the volume as equal as possible when comparing , that's essential . the Nova may be louder or weaker on an analog input than on the digital so equal volume is probably not always the same volume . ..
