Yes, very unlikely that you'd hear a difference between 16/44.1 (CD) vs
24/96 or 24/192. You'd only likely hear a difference if the *mastering*
of the album is a better mastering. Plenty of people have done ABX
(double blind) tests to confirm this for themselves.  I like good
sounding music as much as the next guy (in fact I'm a lot more concerned
than the average music listener!), but I also know enough about the
engineering and science of music reproduction to not get sucked into the
marketing, voodoo, audiophool vortex of "hi-res", DSD, etc. Better
mastering that happens to be hi-res: good.  hi-res or DSD for hi-res
sake:  bad (and only good for the bank account of the seller).
