You don't need NOOBS or KODI, Max2Play is a self contained OS. When you've booted the pi and got the web gui up, installing LMS is just a matter of a couple of clicks. You need to do some set-up of LMS once it's running and you can see it's web gui, like entering the path to your HDD, and doing a first scan.
