I actually generally prefer Opera simply because it gives me most of the functionality I want out of the box (and from a still rather small package) whereas every time I install Firefox I have to install at least 5 extensions to get most of the same functionality. It's just a shame Opera isn't open source :/ Trac, on the other hand, is server software over which I would want to have fine control--it makes much more sense to keep the core package lightweight, and only configure those plugins that I need for each specific instance. You wouldn't want Apache to have all the most commonly used modules built into it either--Apache's core is big enough as it is. Frankly, it still surprises me how many people have trouble configuring Trac, given that it's supposedly a tool for developers. We're not talking about an office suite or something like that here. I understand that even developers can't be bothered to learn the inner workings of every tool they use, but I wouldn't say it's necessary in Trac's case either. And I've rarely, if ever, encountered Trac plugins that are incompatible with each other (at least in cases where they theoretically shouldn't be incompatible). I'm sure it exists, but it's rare. So that's hardly an excuse either. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Trac Development" group.
