I'm not sure what the response, if any to  "--xxx" messages is, as your post is
not clear.  Do you get responses to "--xxx" commands, or not?

If not, then either the physical layer link is broken between the T2 and the
nuvi, the T2 is not receiving or responding to commands, or the Nuvi is not
sending commands or receiving responses.  Clear all or some of the waypoints
out of the Nuvi (pick local digis or things you know will get updated and see
if they come back.  That will establish whether the physical link is working or
not.

If you are getting responses to "--xxx" commands, or if the waypoints are
getting restored, then either the Nuvi is not sending commands or receiving
responses or the T2 is not receiving the commands or sending responses.

Make sure the port you are using on the T2 is still set to "Garmin".  To do
this you may have to put a PC on the other port.  Since the cable is made for
port 1 and the default for Port 2 is "Flow" if you didn't change port 2 to
"Auto" you may not be able to communicate with the T2 using a PC without
resetting the T2 to defaults.  I haven't had mine long enough to know how to
tell you to do that.

It may still come down to putting another RS-232 terminal on the line to the
Nuvi from the T2 to verify that it is sending the messages in proper format.

Good luck,

My Nuvi appears to have developed a problem receving messages, it was working
ok, but now when I send a test message to it, nothing is received, and when I
use the --Version test, it will only receive it when I reboot the Nuvi, it
appears to be showing other stations on the map, I have sent some test messages
to KC0WNY-15, it does not receive them , any thoughts on what the matter is?
