I haven't been following this thread closely, but I wanted to add that I 
just sent off the board layout for the GTRANS2 yesterday.  It's a much 
larger board (around 1.3"x1.8") and it includes a 1-amp DC-DC converter 
to power the newer single-connector nuvis.  It has multiple ID 
resistors, controllable through software, so it should be able to 
emulate different Garmin cables.  I think it'll be able to replace the 
nuvi 350's power supply.
