Guys, the thing I think we are shooting for here is to power the nuvi from the cradle and have the gtrans cable all in one. It makes removing the nuvi a whole lot easier (esp since i'll soon be moving mine between bike and car.)
The trick is to move the USB data pins from the side of the nuvi to the back port. You have to run a pair of fine wire inside the nuvi, and you'll have to modify the cradle too. It's outline in the photos section of this yahoo group page. FWIW, the nuvi 350's cousin the 360 has an external microphone that goes thru the cradle. This is why there is no USB data connector on the 350's rear plug. The 360 supports bluetooth somewhat and allows you to make phone calls using it's speaker and it's remote mic. I sure wish garmin made something that would work as a bluetooth stereo transmitter and supported FMI as the nuvi 350 does.
