Ah, Victor,

It's not jealousie at all, but rather disappointment at the increasing lack
of independent expertise such as yours, where the engineering excellence and
value for the compliance dollar is extraordinary, and where the emphasis of
compliance advice is more focussed on the needs of the customer, as opposd
to reliance on relatively unsophisticated test-based solutions.
Understanding that I am NOT an engineer, that I am NOT a sophisticated test
technician, and that I lack significant talents associated therewith, I
must profess that I am a whole hearted believer in third party
participation, and in the value of third party certifications. As a
manager, however, I understand from a pragmatic and practical perspective
that, let's face it, there's a time and a place for it. Trouble is, the
more we are faced with interpretations of compliance from privately owned
and financed test-houses, the more obscure becomes the true nature of that
time and that place. Bias adds value to the game like a single person adds
fun to an empty teeter-totter... Why bother?

Rick

P.S. I wish every new venture success, but I do not always do so with
enthusiasm.

|Jealousie, ill becomes you Rick. After all, you don't have to use these
|people. You can just pay your fines when you're caught getting it all
|wrong. I'm all for private enterpise. I would love to see how many
|names I recognize when I see the orgchart of this new enterprise.
|The BIG question is, do they give away stamp collectors items when
|you visit ??
