Hi Steve, Can you tell me if the E1/T1 interfaces are going to be connected directly to the telecom network, or are they strictly going to be on an internal private network. The latter case will not have applicable regulatory requirements, only design considerations. If the product is being connected to the public telecom network here are some of the regulatory requirements that you may want to consider:
U.S. Safety UL1950, FCC Part 68 telecom, FCC Part 15 Class A Emissions EU Safety EN60950, EN55022 or EN50081-1 Emmissions, EN50081-2 Immunity (Depending on the classification of the product ETSI EN300 386-2 V1.1.3 may apply) For EU telecom these will be some of the items to consider: If 120 ohm interface CTR 12 unstructured CTR13 structured. For 75 ohm interfaces the following nationals: UK-NTR4 75 ohm national, Dutch T14-03E, Denmark TB 91 020, Swedish SS636334, and Belgian BE/SP-103 Hope this helps. To start with the product would market to the U.S. and Europe. The product will convert signals on the copper interface (RJ-45 or coax) to either multimode or single mode fiber for longer runs. > -----Original Message----- > From: Steve Grobe [SMTP:[email protected]] > Sent: Wednesday, February 17, 1999 8:57 AM > To: Emc-Pstc@Majordomo.
