Jeffrey, All, For what it is worth, the quality of the carrier signal seems to be a key in battery life for me. I spent last week in Manhattan Beach, half the state away from my home in Northern California. At my office in a small mountain town, the cell signal is steady. Not great, but steady. In MB, a very urban area in the LA basin, my Verizon connection fluctuated from on to off to on to off all day. I turned off the sound after a short period because the phone was always announcing signal gain and loss even if I just sat in one spot.
As the phone struggled to find Verizon, it chewed up the battery charge with amazing rapidity. My extra capacity battery lasts days at home, and would not make it from 9 am to 9 pm there. SO, if AT&T had a coverage lapse, it might just make your battery look insufficient. Of course, then it would be your carrier that is insufficient, but somehow I doubt that you will get AT&T to accept such a proposition. I hope that this is your problem, because if it is AT&T may fix it when they bring the network back to normal. Thank you greatly! Peter "The future is not something we enter. Fully charged, cellular radio on. Remove from charger and just let it sit. Immediately the charge dropped to 97% and a couple hours later, it was in the mid/high 80s. Place it back on the charger and turn off the phone radio. When it was fully charged again, I removed it from the charger and let it sit. It again immediately dropped to 97%, but a couple hours later, it's still at 97%. For the record, IR is always off for me, and BT was also off. So, next question: Those of us with a battery issue, what cellular provider are you using, and when did the problem start?
