I don't think there will be an 800p. With all the big-named, big-ticket design folks jumping on board at Palm, I would expect the next non-WinMo Treo's to be Nova/OS II based devices, probably not even called Treo's, and probably with all of the feature sets of the current 800's and pending 850 (i.e., GPS, WiFi, 3G broadband, BT etc.) with a mini or micro USB connector but running the newest Palm OS. I would expect RAM to at least double and support for SDHC to be built in, and for a device that doesn't look
Hopefully, the big plus will be an operating system which gets away from the architecture of Garnet: interrupt and notification driven with no consistent coordination between memory usage and application needs (necessitated by moving code from NVFS to RAM, in and out of cache's). We might even see the caching moved to the processor (that's how Intel does it) thereby bringing a whole lot more stability to the unit. In other words, we don't know what it looks like Traditionally, there have been leaks about Palm products a few months before they've actually hit shelves. Sites like Boy Genius and Engadget get them all the time. Not like Apple where you hardly ever get a leak unless Steve Jobs means for it to be so.
