But then I'd have to use two PIMS -- Google for contacts and email.  Outlook
for notes, todos, and calendar.  That's too awkward and too much trouble.
I'd much prefer having an all-in-one solution.  Besides, as Don Ferguson has
pointed out so many times, Outlook is the best.

No, you can download and install a version of Gmail that gives you offline
access to your email and contacts.

Besides that, you always have access to your contacts on your phone,
connected or not.
