FWIW, I've had my identity stolen twice in my life. The first time was from a former employee stealing paper statements from my former pension plan and the second was from a shipment of paper records literally falling off a truck being shipped from my bank's branch to their central storage facility. Neither incident was web related, although I do an inordinate amount of on-line shopping and personal web interaction. However, I do not have Facebook (or any other social sharing) account and am uncomfortable with cloud computing because I don't like to volunteer for problems, either. :) Just my (fairly irrelevant) opinion.
And now, my 8000 employee firm has just instituted Salesforce.com as their primary sales and contact tracking database. Shows how much I know. Chuck B. Let's face it, most of that stuff is just contacts and appointments. I doubt anyone can do much with "10 AM: meet Fred" and the contact info, well, that is available all over the internet anyway (unless you have Joe Biden's cell number, and you could probable find that if you looked hard enough) just a thought. That seems like it'd be awkward and a step backward. All my other PIM data is in Outlook on my PC. I'd like my contacts to be there too, and I'd like for the contact photos to sync along with the rest of the contact's data. What's so hard about that?
