Blainer) If I am the one you are talking to . . ? OK, well, if you
read the BoM you will understand that baptism is a sacred ordinance the
Lord expects us to comply with, and it is therefore for all, not just
living persons. We know it to be an earthly ordnance, therefore it
cannot be done in the afterlife. It must be performed here on earth.
We believe it is one of the main things the millenium will be used for,
that is, to complete the work for all the dead from Adam on down. The
places for this to happen are the temples the church builds. There are
presently 114 of them in operation, some starting at 4 o'clock in the
morning and continuing all day into the evening, 5 days per week. We
believe the Lord wants this done, but whether the deceased accept the
ordinace is up to them. There is certainly no compulsion. In fact we
believe many will probably reject it, just as they reject Mormonism in
this life. But that is their problem, we do all we can to provide
opportunity for salvation, and baptism is believed to be essential.
