We
believe the Lord wants this done, but whether the deceased accept the
ordinace is up to them.  There is certainly no compulsion.  In fact we
believe many will probably reject it, just as they reject Mormonism in
this life.  But that is their problem, we do all we can to provide
opportunity for salvation, and baptism is believed to be essential.
Hold on   Are you saying that a person can make the choice to choose salvation AFTER death?    Can you give me a scriptural reference for this?    Laura
DAVEH:  Here I am interrupting again, Laura.  But I just want to remind you that we discussed this a few years ago and I did quite references at that time.

"For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:  By which also HE WENT AND PREACHED UNTO THE SPIRITS IN PRISON;"  1Pet 3:18-19

.........and........

"For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit." 1Pet 4:6

There would be little reason for the Lord to preach to those spirits in prison, IF they could not "choose salvation AFTER death".
