TO BLAINE AND DAVEL:
I believe all the verse.
DAVEH:  Yes you do.   Likewise, you logically interpret it incorrectly.
You only believe half the verse.
DAVEH:  You are in error again.  I believe that those who believe and are baptized WILL be saved as the Saviour stated.  I also believe that those who do NOT believe, will NOT be saved......Again, as our Lord explicitly explained.  What I don't accept is your misunderstanding and misinterpretation that the latter half of the passage means that baptism is not a necessary element of salvation.  Such a conclusion is based on faulty logic and a disregard for complementary comments of the Lord and his servants.
I believe all of the Bible.
DAVEH:  It seems to me that you believe a lot more than what is mentioned in the Bible.  Besides extrapolating Jesus' comment in Mk 16:16, you have done likewise in assuming that God is currently only a spirit being.
You only believe parts of the Bible as the Mormon maize recreates it.
DAVEH:  I respectfully disagree, Brother Glenn.  In the two cases I cited above, it is YOU who is reading something into the Bible which the Lord did not intend.
Now I am offended, not at you, but at two Mormon boy "elders" who came by my house today.
Two Mormons stopped my wife in our driveway this evening.  She was in a hurry.   She explained to them she was in a hurry and she needed to get into her car and leave.  She tried to nicely tell them she wasn't interested.  They would not leave her alone.  She had to tell them straight to leave as they would not.  SHE TOLD THEM SHE WAS A CHRISTIAN AND SHE HAD READ THE BIBLE.  THAT WAS NOT GOOD ENOUGH.   THEY WANTED TO KNOW IF SHE HAD READ THE BOOK OF MORMON.    MY WIFE WAS UPSET BECAUSE THEY WOULD NOT TAKE A NICE "NO" FOR AN ANSWER.  THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED TO US THIS YEAR.  IT HAPPENED TO ME IN MY HOUSE, AS I REFUSED TO GO TO THE DOOR.  THEY MOCKED AT ME THROUGH THE WINDOW.
DAVEH:  If what you said is accurate, I am truly sorry that it happened.  It sounds more like what some of the Evangelical (street) preachers have done to us than what an LDS missionary should do.  As I ponder what you said, I wonder if their conduct was as offensive as someone who posted the following......

Top 10 responses to those who ask you why you no longer wear your LDS garments

10. The dog ate 'em.
9. I gave them to Goodwill.
8. I sold them for money.
7. Chicks dig me because I don't wear underwear.
6. I was involved in a horrible accident and they didn't work.
5. Because Trojanman said that "Trojans provide all the protection that a man needs" and I believe him.
4. God told me that I didn't have to wear them anymore...and he told me that you shouldn't wear them anymore.
3. The underwear at KMart is cheaper.
2. I'm trying to bust the beehive garment monopoloy.
1. Because I prefer wearing women's underwear.

NOW THIS USED TO BE THE WAY JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES ACTED.  THESE TWO BOY "ELDERS"  ARE ACTING LIKE JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES.  I THINK YOU MORMONS NEED MORE TRAINING BEFORE YOU SEND LITTLE BOYS OUT TO HARASS WOMEN IN THEIR OWN DRIVEWAY.   I AM SERIOUS ABOUT THIS.  I AM NOT JOKING.

Blainer:  That is super,  "He that believeth and is baptized  .  .  ."
(:>)   That sounds llike the BoM and the Bible are in cahoots, here,
Glenn.  Sounds like they preach the same doctrine.  Maybe you'd better
get with it and find out what this is all about.  (:>)
